Default Smiths Horn

Does anybody have any experience with these narrow slot type horns and if so what are your thoughts. there is a bit about them on the altec - JBL forum but I would like some comment away from there.

Depends on what you want to use it for?

For home audio you need a 2 inch 2441 JBL or a eighteensound neo driver.

Very smooth and open sound up to 10K

Thanks macka. This would be for home use perhaps above a 15" lower bass and a 10" mid or a smaller mid on another horn. Maybe 2.5 way with two 10s or 12s instead of the 15 and 10. Really thinking aloud at this stage. I do have a weakness for horn dynamics!

I used to use a DIY pair made from the 1950's magazine article plans, used them with various 1" JBL and Altec drivers. They were OK, sounded nice enough, no obvious nastiness or earwire.
