i've been watching this forum for a couple of years now, over Moondog55's shoulder. i've learned a lot about design, and about how many real artists are out there designing pieces of furniture in the guise of loudspeakers.
mostly though i've learned about frustration. so i ask the masses: how often, when planning a project, do you change your mind? spend hours here reading and asking questions, read the jaycar catalogue into the wee hours, buy the perfect drivers, then change your mind again? or do you do your research, finalise your list of required items, buy them, and build? someone here in the retail trade once said to me, after i'd purchased a pair of very decent midrange drivers (after i told Moondog55 he could only have two, he now has four) that Moondog must be the only audiophile in melbourne who has a wife. he boasts here that he has good WAF...but i think there may be a limit. this isn't about a family squabble, don't get me wrong. i love the idea of fine-sounding audiophile speakers. sometimes though, i just don't get it. so....do you start and finish one project, or have half a dozen in various stages of completion? |

I do admit that I tend to collect stuff, sometimes I buy just because I cannot resist a bargain, sometimes I plan ahead start buying drivers and then one of the drivers I had planned to use gets discontinued; but mostly it's just me changing my mind about how good the next system has to be.
I have too many drivers on the shelf in the garage and workshop, this I freely admit, and yes at the moment I have 2 uncompleted projects and I,m planning the next 2. My excuse is I'm collecting for the future when I will have plenty of time to build She must love me why else would I get an extra pair of Vifa P13's for my birthday?? Help me out here guys; give me some back-up.

You get a pair of drivers at your birthday? That's awesome!
I get a pair of socks or two. It sucks! |

"how often, when planning a project, do you change your mind?" - all the time, but it gets to a point when to get anything done I just have to forget about all other options and go with one decision...
Jaycar doesn't seem to have much good anymore I must be getting over my obsession; at the Blacktown markets today a guy had a bunch of 4" fullrangers going really cheap; Admire my discipline - I didn't buy them...
