Default Designing enclosure volumes

Hi,

Im still new here, and though it could be interesting to hear how others out there calculates enclosure sizes. Would be great with examples (could use SCP 2.0 )

I use to calculate based on stepresponse.

Taking the ScanSpeak 18W/8531 as an example....

Fs: 28
Vas: 59 liters
Qts: 0.36
Qes: 0.39
Sd: 150cm^2

I would prefer a 25 liter enclosure, tuned at 28Hz.

Giving this StepResponse amplitude

No ringing in the amplitude.

Type the parameter in SCP to see the Frequency response, groupdelay and coneexcursion.

Basicly thats how i calculate (i meassure the TS myself ofcourse to get the right starting point).

I would like to hear how people in other countries do it.

(By the way, heres the stepresponse for a QB3 alignment (max flat) coursing ringing)

Ask the software designer how it does that.
I'm just a satisfied user.

Hi,

I didnt mean what software you use, but how you get to the compromis that you do. Like i concentrate on the stepresponse.

I know the formulas used in WinISD. Same as in SCP (i wrote it).

Do you look only at the frequency response, or what do you do?
