first post wahey!
I have some TDL RTL 2's, mk1 1993 edition, exactly the same as the ones in the what hifi review. I love the sound they make but people tell me they are too harsh, and to upgrade them. Personally i only find them harsh at loud volumes, ie about 11 o clock on my amp (which stops at 6 o clock) Do i need to buy closed back tweeters if i upgrade ? im thinking of Morel MD20's which are £40 or MD 30's which are a bit more. Can you get closed back ribbon tweeters, i prefer silk dome sound, find titanium tweeters far too harsh for my liking, so ribbons would be ideal. thankyou. |

Hi.
Go for the Morel MDT 30s and change the resistor on to a 2ohm. Fit good polyprop caps and change the internal wiring. Do it, you wont regret it! Mike RTL2 Modding
