So, I have an Asus EEE laptop, which comes with the usual .5" crappy speakers. It actually has quite a bit of room left for more speakers, or a bigger speaker, as long as they're thin.
So what would be the way to go? A line array of .5" laptop speakers? Harman Kardon has some sort of upgraded laptop speaker, not sure if it would be worth it, can't find any specs: http://www.excelcomputerinc.com/part...&category=misc Attached is a picture of the space to work with inside the laptop, beside the LCD screen. Any ideas for decent internal laptop speakers? Cheers, Mitch |

Have you measured the stock speakers? I took some FR measurements of the speakers in the macbook pro and it was surprisingly flat within a certain range. They rolled off quickly in the lower and upper frequencies though. I'm not sure it would be worth it to add more of the same.
What I have heard is the dell 'subwoofer' that comes in some laptops. They're not HIFI, but it does give the laptop some oomph so it's not just all upper midrange and treble. I have the dell inspiron 9300 and which features one and it sounds surprisingly good for what it is. Just for kicks I've attached a quick macbook pro FR response (on axis, at least as much as I could tell from behind the grill)
