Default Fostex FT96H

G'day,

I'm after a tweeter to cross over at around 12K with a horn midrange. I was thinking about getting the Visaton TL 16H however a top mount may not be the best, and there may be better value to be had. The Ft96H does seem quite nicem however I can't find many reviews on it.

Does anyone have any experience with it? or reccomend any other tweeter with a high efficiency.

I forgot to add the other option I found was the Beyma CP21/F. Anyone heard these?

another option i really would search at would be the Fostex T825 ... if you can find some in good or perhaps mint condition go for them.

I used them about 10 years ago in a set of : T825(TW), D500(M)/H220 throat, L362(LM), Klipsch Horn with PA38 or L467 in it ? I do not remember but (all chassis where Fostex) when i had my production basement at that time. That was great !

Even there exist still spareparts for the T825.

I know Terry Cain used that tweeter in his Super Abby. He was very into quality sound.

He used it firing backwards.

I used the FT96H along with the Fostex FW208N for the front array of a 7.2 high end home theater commissioned from us a couple of years ago.

It is a very very very nice tweeter. Sweet and it sounds like the highs go out to just under blue light frequencies.

Thanks for that. It does seem quite nice. I think I will probably go for that or the Beyma. Decisions decisions.
