Spill the beans, what you got there?
The magic key. 700 bucks to build sounds like a million. fostex 103's, PRV 15w, 800A's and Dayton 12" subs fill in the bottom end. What you are looking at is the culmination of 100's of hours of trial and error. try something, test it. Is it better or worse? If better keep it if not remove it and try something else. they play all sound perfectly, even Cindy Lauper sounds perfect on them if that's any indication of how good they sound. Movies are even more awesome with their LFE's. Lady Gaga and Sia sound just like they are singing in my living room. so light and airy it's crazy.

So fresh that I haven't heard it yet. 6,5" coax and 2x15".
I will have a listen later tonight.
6x12" in slot loaded baffle x 2 up to 200hz in a 4-way system.

And maybe it will be time for listening to a AMT also tonight.
Where the top 15" plays up to 1,3 khz to meet the AMT.

My latest change in the PAP Trio15 setup.
This time the Aurel Bryan 8 inch FR driver.

As my friend Coen said : this is the most laidback , mellow sound he ever heard from this setup.

No "nasty" peaks anymore :)

I'm using the Mundorf AMT for the last sparkle.
Gonna try the Dayton AMT 3-4 some day in the near future.

For the next time my Lowther DX3 stays in the box.

Enjoy the music all of you !!

Leon.

finally finished the cabinets for my new speakers.

still working on the crossovers, but it sounds good so far!
going to make some grilles as well :)

four years later, and i'm still using the same speakers - i guess that counts as a success :D

i have recently transitioned from minidsp to a PC/Audiolense setup though, and the speakers sound better then ever.

i also changed the JA8008 for an L.cao alnico 8" which sounds a bit better in this setup.

a pair of LAB12 based TH subs has also been added for some proper bass reproduction, and i have started to "subtly" treat the acoustics of the room ;)

Interesting design.

Is that a dipole ribbon? Which waveguide are you using?

Any measurements to share?

Thanks

ribbon is a RAAL dipole with a auto-tech waveguide.
i haven't done any measurements after getting the RPG modffractals, so these are slightly out of date, but i guess they are better than nothing ;)

1# is raw measurements of the individual drivers from the listening position, 2# is the correction filters and 3# is the simulated response.
i haven't double checked the simulations with REW, but to my ears it sounds about right, and others who have tried it confirms the simulation pretty much matches reality.
