Default Tweeter chamber

I was curious if anyone has looked into what effects removing the rear chamber on a tweeter like the Seas 27 series tweeters would have. The reason I ask is that I would like to use a large format tweeter in the A-pillar in my car but I don't have the depth. There is still enough room to add damping material behind the vented pole piece so it would be like an open baffle of sorts.

I would assume it may lower Fs somewhat and change the Qts but the Fs is already so low, ~500hz for the Seas, that as long as you take into account the new roll-off profile in the crossover I think it should be ok. With a x-over freq of ~2k there will be no concern of over excursion, so what do you think?

Can you take the chamber off without removing the magnet too? It all looks like one piece to me.

The chamber is just glued to the metal back plate.

I prefer the performance of the seas tweeters and with the low Fs, the ability to crossover low. I also already have a pair.
