I want to use WinISD Beta to come up with a box to build a "bass bin" with these woofers:
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=299-830 But, without BL, Z, and Sd I can't seem to get WinISD to accept it If only Parts Express would start posting complete measurements ![]() I wish I could find someone in the Columbus area who I could work with to figure out how to use these speaker CAD programs, I can't seem to get through it on my own - I like working with other people rather than by myself when it comes to those sorts of things... RANT: It's a "comedy of errors" I suppose - whenever I try to setup my PC to do measurements, I'm always missing some part or other to setup the wiring/calibration setups... The curse of ADD + family life where there are always other things that are higher priority, like work, kids, paperwork, etc... |

AH! There was some weird problem w/my WinISD which I got around by running another instance simultaniously, now I could select the driver I entered in the database and model the box.
Somehow whenever I was trying to enter new drivers, they seemed to disapear when I closed the program, yet, I also couldn't get to the point where I could select it in a "new" project. YAY ~ now I can go out to the garage and start "making sawdust" ~ something which is entirely unaffected by my ADD... ( other than my shop always being a disorganized mess :P ) At least things like sheets of plywood and full size table saws are simply too big to loose. |

Here are the first quick estimates, yellow is sealed, which would definately only be used with a sub, and green is vented and could be used with or w/o a sub.
I'll probably build the vented first, even though it's about twice the size. |

My version of WINISD will calculate BL, Znom, and you can work out an approximate value for Sd (effective surface area) from the diameter of the speaker.
I usually only put in Qes, Qts, Fs, Vas, Re & Sd.
