Well, after bugging the hell out of everyone here with stupid questions (thanks for your patience), I've finally started building.
The first step was to saw all the little pieces of MDF - more work than it should be probably, being a beginner, but the result - though far from perfect - lived up to my expectations: ![]() Okay, so the next step was: gluing. it took a whole afternoon, but it turned out pretty good I think: ![]() ![]() With any luck these funny looking MDF boxes will turn into some Zaph-Audio ZBM4s soon. Next step was to saw the little triangles that hold the baffle in place - somehow I managed to retain all my fingers Probably next saturday will be time to layout and solder the crossovers.... |

if you go by first order, I started alot earlier - I still got the original tweeters
But you are ahead of me though... you've made your crossovers already - I think I'll be in for a fair amount of work constructing those. And at least you don' have to veneer your speakers... not looking forward to that one |

true. But now the journey continues.
Got all the routing and drilling work done on the fronts (except the screw-holes), and have sanded the holes to fit the objects that go inside. Here are some fronts: I put in the stuff, to see what it looks like: ![]() And here are 2 different approaches to the crossover:

Whoa, looks like I'm lagging behind with my posts on this forum.... here's a couple days' work worth of updates:
![]() Oh no, what's he gonna do with that? Yep, this: ![]() Here's me testing how the crossover will fit in..... ![]() Weird crossover here? Yeah, it's an invention of my own.... A switchable BSC crossover: ![]() Anyways, back to some real work, drilled some holes, fitted some hurricane nuts. ![]() Then stuck in the foam: ![]() And, today's work, the first coat of primer:
