Cracked bass unit

Hi everyone,

First post on this forum...

I just looked at my speakers and one of them as a crack (about 3mm) on the rubber of the bass unit. Until now I didn't notice any change on the sound.
I'm worried that it might get worse...can I do anything to prevent it? Glue?

Thanks

Silicone.

If the surround is butyl, silicone won't stick very well. Sometimes rubber cement will work, sometimes clear nail polish.

You just have to be careful you don't use a product that will degrade the rubber so try it on a small area first.

Thanks for your replies.

I will give rubber cement a go. Will post before and after pictures asap.
