Default Tweeter selection

Hi. Jst wondering if anybody has had any expirience with these tweeters.

Seas 27TDFC
Peerless 810921
Scanspeak D2905/9500

They are going in a MTM 2.5. The mid woofers are VIFA PL18WO09-08. I heard alot of good things about these tweeters but don't know whichn to choose, also the Scanspeak is pretty expensive.

Thanks for the reply. I think I am going to go with the Peerless 810921.

Not to discourage you, but the 27TDFC is a fine tweeter, less expensive, and easier to implement - Peerless needs more crossover components to really get it right due to rising response.

Thanks sdclc126, I will be using an acitve crossover 12dB LR in a biamped setup. Which would you choose? What is a good crossover frequency fo the 27TDFC or 810921

You really need to model the crossover with software - there are several free resources out there, such as:

http://www.pvconsultants.com/audio/frdgroup.htm,

and a good guide to the above here:

http://www.rjbaudio.com/Audiofiles/FRDtools.html

I wouldn't be able to suggest a crossover frequency offhand, perhaps someone else could - but you need to use the T/S parameters of the woofers and tweeter to design a proper crossover.

Look at the not less impressive MDT-30S - Morel high power handling tweeter:
