Recessing driver into baffle like focal utopia be

Would mounting a drive unit at the back of a baffle behind a 45degree beveled hole (similar to what the focal utopia sub) have any strange diffraction problems from the sharp edge at the end of the hole in the baffle?

At sub frequencies, you won't have any diffraction issues. Let's say your sub plays up to 200 Hz. The wavelength of a 200 Hz wave is 5'7". It would take one heck of a bevel to impact a wavelength that long.

Joe D'Appolito points out in his "Measuring Loudspeakers" book that a 3/4" bevel corresponds to the frequency 18000 Hz.
