Hello-
I'm planning on building a full-range speaker speaker using the Tangband W4-657s driver. So far I've limited the enclosure types down to either a transmission line or a Voigt Pipe. They seem to rely on the same principle of 1/4 the wavelength to enhance bass, however I have yet to find any information on how these two types of enclosures differ. I am somewhat inclined towards the voigt pipes because of their unique design and ease of construction. Any suggestions? |

I put together a pair of w4-657s full-range ported speakers. I am pretty inpressed. They go decently low, although there is something *slightly* lacking in the highs. Spending money on an XO and tweeter would have ruined the point of the project, which was to be a cheap, simple and great-sounding computer speaker.
Anyway, if you want to go T-Line, check out Dave's (Planet10) website. http://www.t-linespeakers.org/ Also, there is a TL design using the 657s at http://audio-resolution.com/zhorn/ . There is a page with all the dimensions at http://www.audio-resolution.com/zhorn/howto.html Good Luck!
