Default Dayton Tapered Tower Design?

Does anyone recognize this Dayton speaker design?

It seems to be comprised of a 12" Dayton Reference Sub-woofer, 8" Reference bass/mid, 2" Reference Mid, and one of Dayton's Dome Tweeters.

The cabinets seems to be a tapering tower with an additional cabinet flair at bottom where the sub-woofer is.

Here are some review videos to give you a clue as to the cabinet design.

Dayton 2: Mid -

The reviews themselves are fairly shallow with a few mistakes, and I question why he would build everything out of 4 ohm components especially when using a built-in passive sub (assumed).

My main concern is for the tapered tower design, and whether this is something he threw together himself, or if it is an existing design he copied?

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I'm not familiar with it. Plus, I don't see any link to the actual project either. Do you have that?

Well, no, I don't have a link to the project. If I had that, I wouldn't be asking.

This ExpoTV.com site, I think is a place where consumers review products. This particular kid has reviewed hundred of products from toothpaste to speakers and everything in between. Most of his reviews are roughly has shallow as these speaker reviews.

I don't know if he built this speaker system or if a friend built it, but it is a four way tapered tower built from all Dayton Reference Series components. The 12" woofer is actually a Dayton subwoofer with 8" bass, 2" Mid, and roughly 1" tweeter.

Sadly, none of the videos ever gives a really clear picture of the overall cabinet, so it is difficult to determine how extreme he went with the design concept.

I've been doing some rough sketches and have come up with a roughly 24" base that tapers to 12" just above the woofer. Though if I use roughly straight sides, the base can be roughly 16" wide. The overall height, at current best guess, is about 39".

I, in sketches, experimented with a straight front in the area of the woofer an approx. - 14 degree angle to the face in the area of the mids and highs. That seemed a little too steep. So, I changed it to a -5 degree angle for the woofer, and an additional -5 degrees for the mid/high area. That looked a little more workable.

Part of the problem is, I don't know how thin he made it. It could have a depth of 3' to 6" at the top. I also don't know if the back tapers forward.

Attached are a couple of quick sketches. In both cases, the scale is 3" per division or 4 squares = 1 foot.

Notice on the lower right side of the front view is a faint line extending the side line of the mid/high area down into the woofer area. I haven't figured the cabinet volume for that yet, but the wide larger cabinet has a volume of about 3.3 Cu.Ft.

The larger version has a 24" base (a little too wide for my taste), 39" high, width at the top is about 4", width between the bass and mid/high section is about 12".

The side view shows roughly a 5 degree taper in the bass area and an addition 5 degrees in the mid/high area.

The reason I was asking if anyone was familiar with this design is I was hoping to get some better pictures of it, and even better hoping for some design plans.
