It seems like it'd be an OK monitor. More like "speaker assembly" tho.
I'm going to try to build something like magnetar's latest for a little less money. Having not heard either model, I can safely bet my net worth on which is a more satisfying sound.

for you info, I have bought the Usher 8945 driver and the higher model 9950 tweeter both are compatible and sounds quite good. However, overall efficiency is 87db.
There is one main drawback the efficient is low, after apply baffle step the efficiency drops even further to around 85db or less. I use active x-over so I don't lose on baffle step.
