Suggested Reading?

I was on the hunt for a GOOD acoustics text. Maybe not JUST for loudspeakers, but acoustics in general. I bought one that is a little over my head and needed a good explains everything but doesn't go too heavy on the wave equation derivations text for a go between.

I figured i would look around on here. Didn't seem to find any threads related to the topic so I figure I would start one.

What are your must have books for speaker design and acoustics? I am seeing a long list here.....keep'em coming. Thanks guys.

For example, I believe Everest's Master Handbook of Acoustics is a good primer on the subject. FUndamentals of Physical Acoustics is also good but is apparently intended for people with mechanics/physics backrounds as it is filled with differential equations and such.

Also good information.

I guess I was hoping for more people to respond. Kinda to gather a list of helpful references. Many trades have some text they refer to as "the bible." Does anyone one have an oppinion on what this would be for acoustics or loudspeaker design.

A book I've found to be a good reference source with a lot of practical application level information on acoustic is Sound System Engineering , Don & Carolyn Davis, Sams

Master Handbook of Acoustics by Everest

Physical acoustics, moderate on math:

Fundamentals of Acoustics by Kinsler and Frey
Acoustics by Baranek (really good for EE perspective)

Serious:

Theoretical Acoustics by Morse and Ingard

Great for understanding specific topics:

AES Journal articles
Harman white papers

Just wanted to post this for anyone else looking for good texts for speaker design. Acoustics by Leo L Beranek is available on amazon and through the ASA for dirt cheap and is an excellent text for loudspeaker design and general acoustics.
