Hi I am just in the early stages of designing and building my 4th pair of T-lines. I have spent the last three years on the computer making sure I get them exactly right. I am lucky enough to work at a place that has a huge CNC machine to get the cabinets perfectly cut. Anyway, I am wanting to use a combination of acoustastuff and long fibre wool, for the filing. The only problem is that my usual supplier (falcon acoustic) has moved on. Does anyone know where I can get decent long fibre wool in Britain or anywhere for that matter, and that nice thick acoustic foam, the kind that naim use for there driver covers to, well cover the drivers.
cheers for any help. |

Hi,
You could try Wilmslow Audio www.wilmslowaudio.com. They've got lambswool amongst other damping material, see here https://secure.wilmslow-audio.co.uk/...6b66b5bb701985. They also have 10mm grille foam which might do the trick for your driver covers, https://secure.wilmslow-audio.co.uk/...roducts_id/677. Hope some of this info might be of help. Regards, Ewan |

thanks guys, I shall have a look now. I am hoping to document the whole project with photos and a little description. Built too many speakers with no paper/picture trail to help me in the future.

had a look at the wool on wilmslow, it's a blend, I was particularly looking for long fibre wool, I used to get it from 'falcon acoustics'
but they don't exist anymore. cheers. |

Slightly mad thought this one, but you couldn't get the long fibre wool from a Wool Mill or knitting/craft stockist could you? The DIY speaker builder here, http://www.blackdahlia.com/the_dahli...ker_system.htm, did exactly that.
