Cool Nakamichi - Diatone speakers

http://www15.ocn.ne.jp/~slife/photo/a8.JPG

I saw a pair of these in a restaurant last night. The brand name on the front was Nakamichi but under the grill - which would not come off - the driver said Diatone. It looked like a 10 inch driver. The tweeter was all a crackle and ready for the trash but the bass was delisioso, full and mellow. Big bass reflex cabinets. I asked the hostess, who was also delisioso, about the speakers and she said her husband just bought them and she wont let him bring them into their house. Thats why they ended up in the restaurant. The top of the speakers served as a small table for glasses and other bread baskets.

Does anyone know anything about these?

There are quite a few diatone fanatics over there, those speakers are sought after by quite a few people. They are rare from what I understand.

I heard them back in the mid-80's at Nakamichi headquarters,
and I was very impressed. Maybe the hostess will sell them...
