Can someone steer me in a direction for a store to buy XO components and other DIY stuff in the Detroit area? I've searched for a thread and came up empty.

XO components seem to be hard to find in retail outlets - not a lot of demand for them I guess. You might search for electronics distributors in your local yellow pages and make some phone calls. Another thought would be pro audio retailers, but that's just a guess.
If you have no luck with these then it's mailorder - PartsExpress, Madisound, MCM, etc.
