Greetings - I am putting together my first set of DIY speakers. Are there any recommendations on what the best internal wire is? I have heard good things about Vampire CCC, Cardas and Oyaide but is there really a difference? Thanks in advance.

No. Not IMO anyway. Unless you go to electrical extremes (very high resistance, capacitance, inductance etc) whereby the wire's electrical characteristics are having a significant affect on the behaviour of the components it connects together. Remember to get your connections as good as possible -they've caused more problems than wire ever has. Run a search on it here -it's quite a popular subject.
