Default New speaker project

Hi,

Currently I'm in the process of building a new speaker project.
I bought already the woofers and tweeter. (second hand)
The whole alignment will be in d'appolito.
The units I want to use are:
2x Scan Speak 15W8530K00
1x Fountek NeoPro5i ribbon tweeter (per speaker)

In the picture shown, I removed the front plate of the tweeter and mounted the woofers to it, to make it as close as possible.

Now I got a question.
Is it better to have the ribbon off-axis of the enclosure, or in the centre?

Best regards,
Remco

I would think it would be better to have it (or any driver) with un-equal spacing from all edges of the baffle to avoid resonances. I don't think this is any more or less important with a ribbon. Because of the poor vertical dispersion pattern of ribbon drivers I would ensure that it is vertically on-axis with the intended listening position, but ribbons have relatively good horizontal dispersion so shifting it around horizontally should make much difference.

This is my understanding, hope it helps.

I'd not use an MTM 2-way crossover with such large spacing between woofers. Use a TMM 2.5-way crossover with either MTM or TMM driver positions.
