Default Focal 7v013 Woofers

I have a pair of Focal 7v013 woofers and would like to use them in a 2-way bass reflex or transmission line enclosure. Unfortunately I can not find any parameters on these drivers. Would appreciate any info...

Hi,

Not sure if you ever did build anything with these.....

I am looking for one of these to replace a damaged 7V013 and am wondering if you would consider selling your pair to me if they never made it into a project.

Thank you sir!

Best regards,

Mike

Default Specs and/or crossover components

Hi Mike

Great, finally someone else with these woofers.

I also have a pair. Unfortunately they are not for sale at this stage. I'm rebuilding a DIY project that uses the 7C013 woofer and a T121 tweeter. Had the rubber surrounds professionally replaced and need to build/buy new crossovers.

I have a current thread asking for the specs. Would also be interested in your impressions of them and their general characteristics?

If you don't have the specs I would be interested to know your crossover components (the capacitor and inductor values) and configuration?

Regards, Roger

Hi Roger,

Too bad.... I hate to have to buy the W series drivers and modify my x-over.

I am using these with the T120 TDC tweeter and an x-over that Tim of EAR designed for a friend of mine. They sound very good, clean and detailed but not overly warm even with tube gear. Bass is decent but I don't consider it balanced enough to use without a sub.

If you want to email me directly with your mailing address I can send you a spec sheet for the 7V013 and also a schematic of the x-over I am using.

And if you change your mind about selling let me know.

Best,

Mike

Thanks Mike,

Really appreciate your help. This is only my second DIY speaker project.

Can't send you an email yet as I just joined the forum. I have a few more posts in mind. Then my permissions may change.

If that doesn't work in the next few days I can set up a temporary email and leave it on a page on my website.

I don't have an issue like yours of replacing a crossover since there was no decent one to start off with. However the cabinet woofer holes have been recessed to fit the focal 7" woofer shape. Therefore cannot easily change the woofer to another make.

/Roger

Hi Roger,

I am in the same boat... too new to email.

Brisbane 'eh? I have a good friend down there…..

How about you Rudy129, would you consider selling your pair?

And to anybody else who might have a pair; I would love to buy them from you if you have no use for them!

Cheers,

Mike

Mike,

Have seen other members posts their details this way:

roger atsign businessaspect dot com dot au

Look forward to receiving your crossover details. This will give me good starting point.

Do you know if the crossover was tailored to the size of the cabinet? Is it a ported enclosure? What are the dimensions?

Hi Dan,

do you also have the specs for the 7C013 model?

I had assumed that it is similar to the 7V013 specs you provided. However Mike sent me some links to driver tables. Eg.

http://www.hal-pc.org/~bwhitejr/drivers.txt

The figures for seem to vary greatly depending on cone material and other variables. Pressumably there is some difference betwee a 7C013 and a 7V013 model.

Regards, Roger
