Has anyone tried this driver in open baffle..? It is 94db eff..& seems like it might be worth the risk for a open baffle experiment.
If it fails at least I got new car speakers. |

Off-axis response looks a bit smoother than most I've seen like it, although it's far from perfect, of course. Definitely needs to be listened to at 30-45 degrees off axis, and even then, there shows to be a slight 4-5 dB rise from around 15 or 16 KHz up. I'd probably expect to get down to 100Hz and below pretty easily, or maybe even as low as 60-80Hz or so usable output on a baffle of decent size, altho that last prediction is probably pushing it a bit. Don't expect anywhere near high output levels at those frequencies though without distortion setting in. I find the 94 dB sensitivity rating a little difficult to believe, even for a 2.83v rating, especially when it's rated 88.72 dB/watt/1m..which actually sounds about right.
