Default Magnetizing the motor assembly

at what point is the magnet, top plate, t-yoke magnetized?

is the magnet charged first or is the enitire motor assemby put together first, then stuck inside the magnetizer to charge the magnet?

what about the type of subs that use multiple little magnets surrounding the voice coil? same thing?

thanx

There are many different ways. Really depends on the design.

for the common overhung subwoofer with 3"coil and 50mm winding height using double stacked strontium magnets...just the usual industry standard...

but im also asking because i want to build my own subwoofer, i can get magnets both before being charged and after...

but id really like to try building one using multiple magnets surrounding the coil...instead of the usual 'disc' magnets...

i want to try this type because id have more freedom in design and could try more variations....but only if i wont have to get the top plate and t-yokes charged.

if you look at the ddaudio 'z' series, the coil is practically even hung with the magnets, not the top plate....this type of design i think i can do.
