Default Eminence ACOUSTINATOR Drivers?

I'm wondering if anyone has used anything in the Eminence Acoustinator series, what they think, how they have implemented theirs. I don't see discussions here, or I just missed them.

We are working with acoustic guitar, violin, flute, vocals.

Thanks!

Subbing because I'm also interested, especially the hemp cone ones. Cannabis Rex (I love that name) is also another possibility.

Are you looking to make a PA design?

Right PA, small venue usually. I've never listened to any of the Hemp units (not that I know anyway), they get good comments here, I need to look there.

What interests me in the Eminence is their claim that the drivers were someway tuned for acoustical instruments. Nice 10 and 12 inch drivers whose makers don't make that claim. We changed some of our mics to Audix based on their claims about acoustic-intent, and they were right, a real improvement for us.

So, in terms of the seriousness of a company promoting a paticular use, at the least it's an "implied warranty" and the product has to deliver....so I think maybe the Accoustinators are something special.

That's just marketing BS. How do you tune a driver for a specific need like that?

Brett, now you have me wondering which drivers the marketing people at Eminence might have decided to rebrand for acoustic performances.

I wonder which way I'd want to go in a pick from the existing lineup if I were in marketing there and tasked with rebranding for acoustics? Drivers with higher Qts, lower? Fluxy ones? Their Rebel Yelling types, maybe the ones supposed to chime like Big Ben? I don't know....any ideas?

For an acoustic, I would assume that you'd want to retain the charcter of the instrument itself, not have the speaker be an instrument. I'd design something that's like a big hifi speaker or monitor.

Default eminence acoustinator

we bought a pile of the 12" neo acoustinators for a passive subwoofer that never made it out of R&D. this is an old thread but if any of you guys are interested in trying out the driver (ACOUSTINATOR™ N2012 ), please ping me at anthony --a--t-- virtueaudio.com.
