Default Manger Dipole/Scan-Speak TL

I have a pair of DIY Manger 109's that I will be re-configuring shortly. I made the mistake of building a pair of ESL's and now the Mangers sound too much like piston drivers. After several years of contented listening I have now concluded that these drivers would be better suited to an open backed enclosure of some kind.

I like the dipoles that Linkwicz designs and I am considering building a dipole/TL loudspeaker using the Mangers in dipole section and the 8" Scan-Speak drivers (21W/8555-0) in a TL section of the same enclosure.

Has anyone experimented with this kind of approach? What were the results? Am I wasting my time? Any advice?

Thanks,
