Hi..
I have a dumb question! In a 2 way system, can we put another 2 way XO, in the low-pass output, to add a midrange driver, like a 3 way system? What are the consequences?

Generally all three circuits in a 3-way crossover are separate, branching from the positive input - the bass speaker will have a lowpass filter, the midrange will have both a highpass and a lowpass, and the tweeter will have highpass only.
So if you're adding a midrange to your system this is the best way to do it. But the real question is, what 2-way do you have that you want to convert to a 3-way by adding a midrange? Generally speaking what is usually added to a 2-way is a subwoofer, or woofer, where the existing woofer essentially becomes the midrange. What speakers do you have now? This will provide much useful information towards offering practical guidance.
