just buy a box of cheapy crocodile clamps w/o leads and use their conducting jaws to hold stuff together, works wonders; no soldering, no bending required just make sure the connection is OK (scrape off lacquer from inductor coils etc).

Excellent; thanks for the good ideas. I'm no good at soldering ("the bigger the blob, the better the job"), so I probably should take the opportunity to improve my skills. But I'm not gonna.
I think I'll go with the terminal strip option--that looks like the quickest and cleanest. Should I crimp on the spade terminals? I guess for the finished product, I'd cut 'em off before soldering. |
