the original there is nothing that indicates it is near optimum.
3-way crossovers, especially bass to mid are very difficult, and
personally I cannot condone the head in the sand approach.

I second HiFiNutNut's suggestion that without measurements you truly are shooting in the dark.
I've been building speakers for about 10 years and I can say that even with measurements it is tricky to make good sounding 3-way design. You could spend 10 hours with a mic and a computer and come up with a better speaker than if you spent 200 hours with no measurement equipment.
This may come off as a bit harsh, but it's just one of those things where once you do it right you'll never go back.
All you need is a calibrated mic (even just a capsule calibrated by kim girardin,) a full duplex sound card, a pc, and a measurement program.
Use something like mataa (freeware) for measurement and if you're inclined, lspcad is great for crossover design.
When you are done you can use Room EQ Wizard to tune up your room!

The Scanspeak bass unit and vifa mid both have 88dB
nominal sensitivity. This may sound right ...... it's not ....
You can play around with components until the cows
come home and not get it right unless you know what
you are trying to achieve with the 3-way design.
Which is due to BSC a nominal axial sensitivity of 83/84dB/W.
At the bass / mid c/o point some BSC needs to be built into
the bass unit but most of it should be included into the P13
roll-in which usually means an oversized inductor for said unit.
The XT25 needs a 1mH, 4.7R and 100uF parallel notch generally,
only if you know exactly what you are doing can you omit it.
Note that nominal treble levels depend on target sensitivity,
if the the treble level is wrong "correct" BSC will sound wrong.
Measurement is one way round it, good simulation another .....
