Don't know how they sound, but I'm sure the speaker can be replaced!

Ah, but whats' the bandwidth/dynamic range of the radio channel?

Then there's all the cordless phones, wifi products that you and you neighbors have. Hopefully, drop outs will be benign.

Great idea though...

Since you have to plug most regular lamps into a wall outlet anyway, speaker wires "disguised" as power cord would look perfectly normal...
