Default Speaker Repair

Anyone ever get involved in reconing speakers? It is a vintage 8" 8 ohm loudspeaker.

Vintage speakers have that paper material which can get brittle over time. Unfortunately the metal basket is a precise fit for the radio it belongs to.

You would need to find a recone kit for the speaker. Contact the manufacturer.

It's a vintage speaker from Zenith... I don't think Zenith makes speakers anymore, do they?

Why don't you call A Brown Soun, and explain the situation? They can be a starting point.

Hi,
you are in the right part of the world.
There are many producers of replacement cones and the other ancilliaries that are required for repairing drivers.
A complete cone+voicecoil+surround+spider to the correct dimensions may not be available, so you may have to buy these parts separately to achieve the dimensions needed to fit the magnet to surround with intervening spider support distances all fixed by your casting.
