I am forced to undertake a new bookshelf build since my cat decided to climb up one of my speakers
destroying a Vifa PL14WJ09. Since the price has almost doubled on them I think for the same money I can get better speakers these days.Zaph gave both of the newer Peerless HDS speakers a very favorable rating. The 830882 he reviewed has been replaced by the newer 831882 and from what I have read so far around the DIY forums it appears Peerlees cleaned up the build. My first question is does anyone know if they improved on the distortion issue around 450 Hz? Second, I am looking for a speaker with a warm natural sound for jazz, vocals and yea a little bit of my favorite rock n roll Does this line have that quality?I already have a pair of Vifa XT25TG30 Ring radiators I could pair them with but that isn't cast in stone. Any feedback will be much appreciated. |
