bass matrix hole size....does it matter

Ok, I had someone build me a pair of cabinets with a bass matrix, ala the edgar beers eveII. Through some miscommunication, the matrix holes are only 1" in diameter. So there are 8 holes total on each panel, 4 on the left 4 on the right. obviously the drawings have the hole diameter much larger. the problem is the cabinets are pretty much finished...so besides volume reduction are there any other negative effects? should i try to dremel out a larger hole...although that might be difficult given i can only work through the woofer cutout.

I guess if volume reduction is the only problem then i can live with it.

Sounds like the baffle/brace will act as an internal resistive vent of sorts, so I imagine it will cause a notch somewhere in its BW, though probably high enough up in its BW that it will be attenuated by the XO, ergo not an issue worth dealing with unless you're a perfectionist.
