Hi all!
I've realized a pair of sp95 -a Troels Gravesen variation (or upgrade?) of the classic Proac Responce 2.5 clone- but I'm not fully satisfied. I think something is missing and reading here and there i got the idea -and my hear can confirm- that the midrages have gone somewhere else . What can i do? working on the xo or add a speaker to take care of that part of the audio spectrum? i'm a newbie, so i'd like to know your ideas and possible solutions. Thanks in advance |

Nobody knows...unbelievable!!
P.S. the correct speaker is the ss 2.95 with scan speak 18W/8535 and D2905/9500. |

I built Troels SP95 design a while since and I know what you mean about the midrange. It's there but it kind of isn't, it just doesn't sound quite right.
I then built a variation of the Ekta, using the 12M4631G00 midrange but kept the 9500 tweeter. Troels did a simulation for the 9500 on a request, there's a link to the crossover at the bottom of the Ekta article (Nigel/Australia) but Nigel's website seems to be down at the moment

Thank FullThrottleRic for the answer! I appreciate your comments.
I've seen that Troels has tried in the acappella loudspeaker to solve the lacking of midrages using the SEAS T17RE. The main problem is that this particular seas product is not easy to find. I would like to keep the same ProAc cabinet and adding a new speaker. Do you have any idea? As always, thanks to everyone who will help. Duz |
