Hi, im about to build my own home cinema, and have almost decided on building 5 PMS's. these speakers will be perfect for me considering the low cost, high sensitivity, placement friendly and seems to sound very good. the only problem is how i can fit the center speaker!
http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/PMS.htm this speaker is fairly large, 100 by 50cm. so it will probably be difficult to place it above the screen (going to use projector and screen, something like 1.8*1.2, maybe smaller) and i can definatly not place it underneath. do you think i could lie the speaker down horisontally underneath the screen? or will the off axis respons be terrible, since the vertical off axis now is horisontal? can you think of any other solutions? i rrreally want to use these speakers, as they seems like the only ones for me! could an alternative be to use this speaker http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/3WClassic.htm as the center, and the other four PMS's? or will they sound too different? (not easy being an perfectionist, and not having lots and lots of money) thanks alots for answers! i really need help for this one!! Øyvind |

Hi,
Make up 5 cardboard cutouts and see if you can really live with them .... L and R for stereo OK... but the rest ? I'd use the top section in a large wide flat backed wall mounting configuration for front and rears. |

Some people get a screen that is fairly transparent (acoustically)
and put the speaker behind it. Most movie theaters are done this way. As a matter of fact, a DVD created for home use has been remastered to tone down the center channel because it is mixed much hotter (+3db?) for the theater. Some High-end theater processors allow for a one-touch adjustment in case the DVD was not properly re-mastered. herm |

I also like the PMS.. but this is the project I'd now recommend for listening and HT offering excellent value:
http://www.htguide.com/forum/showthread.php4?t=26939 *If* you use the R44 then you could pair that design with the statements as your frontal L&R loudspeakers (if you desired): http://www.htguide.com/forum/showthr...2&page=1&pp=35 Those TB titanium *foil* mids are *nice*.
