Default 831882 in an MTM config?

Hi All,

I'd like to build a small MTM w/ 5.25" woofers. The intent would be to cross this over at about 100 Hz to a subwoofer. To ease integration issues, I'm contemplating a sealed enclosure.

The Peerless 831882 stands out as a nice low distortion, high value driver.

However, I haven't found much in terms of success stories for this driver in this application. What should I be expecting?

Assuming I'm using the tool correctly, Unibox indicates an F3 of 110 Hz or so with a pair of these drivers in a sealed box. I suppose I could apply a Linkwitz transform to get the desired "Q" and F3 frequency. Is this a bad idea?

Unibox also indicates that the SS 15/8530 would work great, but that costs a whole lot more than the Peerless. If the 831882 won't fly, is their a better alternative?

It will fly if using a 12 dB/octave LR XO.

Wow, bjorno. Thanks for taking the trouble to run a simulation on my behalf!

Looks like the results are not vastly different than what I had with Unibox, so I appreciate the validation, and also the input that this result is basically usable.
