Default SS6600 at 1400hz

As the headline, would the SS6600 play effortless at this low crossoverpoint? The crossover would be active 4th order 1400hz.

Effortlessly is not the proper word. It's a little too low for this tweeter (in terms of distortion and phase coherency of the system).
May be 1,6kHz is more reasonable crossover frequency, especially if you implement the tweeter in a waveguide for better matching the acoustic impedace (Sd is very little). Also have in mind it's going to be -6dB at this frequency.

p.s.What kind of midbass driver are you going to use (if we assume you are going two way)?

According to Mark K's test, much less expensive Seas standard is more appropriate for low freq crossover duty.

I wouldn't use the SS AirCirc with 1.4 kHz XO. Though I think it should be okay for a music-only system, I wouldn't want to spend $400/pair just in case I'd need to replace them.

Are you sure it's -6dB at 1400? Everything I see and hear tells me it's flat to 600. Not clean down there, mind you, but flat.

In any case, I'm crossing mine over at 1800, which seems to be a reasonable compromise with the Seas 15CY001. Any higher and that 3rd harmonic distortion peak starts being apparent from the mid, any lower and the tweeter's working too hard.

The T29MF Seas Magnum claims 1.4 mm p-p linear excursion. That, along with enough sensitivity for response shaping, and it may work well with a low XO frequency.

Yes, but only when the tweeter is connected to the electronic crossover. The intermodulation distortion is quite high at this frequency, but with such a steep filter it's not going to cause any problems.

I tried crossing my Accutons (C30-6-23) at 1,4kHz with 4th order LR and they play without any strain, even at high volume. They have 30mm effective diameter thus having better capability reproducing lower frequency tones.
