I recently acquired an ancient Graetz (sp?) German console stereo at a yard sale. The AM/FM/SW/Phono chassis uses SE 6BQ5/EL84 outputs, very small output xfmers. Probably early 1960`s vintage.
The speakers lineup is two 4 or so inch round tweeters (the ones with the small alnico round magnet on the back and a brass setscrew in the middle of the front pole piece, sealed pressed steel basket frame and paper cone), and a large oval woofer about 7x9 or 7x10 inches on each side per channel. The tweeters are placed each side of the single mid/woofer. How good are these drivers including the woofers generally? My main question is are these tweeters any good as a high mid and what is the deal with the adjustment screw front and center? Any ideas how low one could cross them over at? Dave (Planet 10), have you played with these?
