Evening all,
Im just getting started on the whole Amp, PA setup for my band and am trying to learn as much as I can as I go. I have a bit of experience with Audio gear, but was pretty happy to find a forum like this to have a look around on. Does anyone have any experience with these http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Brand-New-Pai...QQcmdZViewItem I know they are too cheap to be true but............. I've been pricing speakers of late and I know im looking at around $699 each for decent 15's (Yamaha) but these are almost cheap enough to take the gamble on.. If they are rubbish, I can flog them to the local cash converters and see what they will give me for them. What do people think? |

Don't waist your money on those.
If you want decent but cheap (money-wise that is), go with Behringer speakers. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=248-644

Let us get real here OK? The Chinese are really coming out with decent stuff lately & a band on a shoestring budget...this IS the ticket!
Granted the power rating is wildly optomistic & the sensitivity isn't all that at 94DBa, but at the asking price you really can't even come remotely close with so called "quality" gear. And if they DO go bad in a short time you can then chock it up to experience and maybe put some better replacement drivers in the enclosures. The price they want for these two speakers equals just one raw "quality" driver............I'm sorry its' a no brainer here. _____________________________________Rick......... .. |

Thanks Guys,
What Rick was saying was kinda my thinking too, I managed to track down someone who purchased a set of 8" versions of the same and he was quite impressed by the build quality and the sound he got from them. My theory is that if they arn't as good as what we 'really' need long term, maybe we will turn them back on us and use them as foldbacks or like you say replace the drivers, and see what happens. I was hoping someone here may have heard them in action but maybe no-one has been game enough yet |
