and an intergrated amp has a power amp and preamp in one chassis.

think of it this way:

a line stage has no phono stage ("head amp"), it's only a means to change the input and "volume" to a power amp

a phono stage is required to reverse the RIAA recording curve, the industry standard in vinyl. A MM stage has less gain than an MC stage because the MM output is much more than a MC

a preamp is unable to drive speakers, it's only a means to change the input to a power amp, and switch sources and a phono stage (usually, but not always)

a (power) amp has no controls, just amplification stage(s), and high power output to drive the loudspeakers

amp+ preamp (whether preamp or line stage) = intergrated amp

intergrated amp + tuner = receiver
