Question Seas MCA11FC (H143)

It looks like this midrange driver has been discontinued? WHY?!?
It seems to have everything I want. Off-axis response looks great. Awesome value, too.
I'd really like to buy several of these for a first project. Where to find them??

http://www.seas.no/seas_line/midrange/H143.PDF

The only thing that bugs me about it is the funky frame, but with this driver, I could definitely live with that.
And yes, I've seen the MCA12RC (H1304), but it doesn't appear to be as good and as sensitive as the H143. I just don't get it. Am I missing something here?

Thanks,
Brandin

Unfortunately, it looks like the 5.5" MCA15RCY (H1262) would be the next best bet, but it's a 5.5" midrange! Off-axis response of course isn't as good, and sensitivity isn't much better than the 4.5" was, not to mention response probably isn't quite as smooth. The reason I was focusing so much on the 4.5" MCA11FC is because I've been considering trying a 4-4.5" midrange with smooth response, good extension, and very good off-axis response to possibly mate with a Hiquphon 3/4" dome and 8" woofer, triamped and actively crossed with a digital crossover. I would have probably started out with experimenting with the Seas 4.5" in an OB, and whatever 8" in a vented enclosure. That 4.5" Seas looked like the perfect mate for a 3/4" dome. Oh well. Maybe I'll just have to try the 5.5" mid instead. It looks like it might mate fairly well with the 90dB Hiquphon OW4? This way, I might also be able to use this combo if and when I ever decide to learn how to build passive crossovers, but mainly, if I do a matching center channel for my HT, I could make a passive crossover for it and have the drivers match better. What do you guys think? All comments/suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,
Brandin

The MCA11FC was an interesting mid. It was an old midrange with many being sold but I can't find anyone publish any speaker with it or anyone selling them 2nd hand.
I was quite keen of building something like what you plan. Speaker with wide open sound using MCA11FC but was hold back due to my limited knowledge on crossover.
Have you look at Seas 4.5" MCA12RC? The off axis is not as good as MCA11FC but is better than the MCA15RCY.
Troels Gravesen build the 3 way classic using the MCA12RC http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/3WClassic.htm
