Default Tuning Freq below Fs of driver in a Vented Box?

hi,
pretty much of a newb out to design a simple full range loudspeaker.
i have a question which im sure is so basic that no one has written about it on the net- can the tuning freq of the box be lower than the free air resonance of the driver? the drivers i have are 3 inchers and have a fs of around 90hz. obviously it makes no sense to use them in a full range system if it goes down to only 90hz.however if you can tune the box to a lower freq. then it might be possible to get some low end out of it.
i apologise in advance for asking such a basic question, and for any contradictions i may have unknowingly made in my post- i am just trying to understand the basics
thanks,

love, light and peace

The search function isn't the best, but it does work.

Tuning at or below Fs
