Default Kerf cutting.

I am building the Poor Man`s Strad from Troel Gravesen`s site. This is a loose clone of the Sonus Faber Stradivarius and requires building a curved front and rear enclosure. I am using plywood and will kerf cut it to allow the bends. My question is what should i use to fill the cuts as i bend it around the inner braces and ribs? I don`t know whether to use wood filler or some kind of putty. Has anyone done this kind of thing before?
Steve.

The one time I tried this, (not for a speaker, but furniture), I used one of the foaming polyurethane adhesives both to hold the curve and fill the gaps and it worked very well.

Hi castlesteve,

Save yourself some aggravation (maybe anyway) and try looking here for what you need:

Good Luck! I hope what you need is already made just waiting for you to take it home!

Regards//Keith

It wasn't Gorilla glue, 'cos you couldn't get that over here until recently, but that's what I would use if I had to do the same thing again today.

Al's is very good, but can take a while to dry and be kind of messy (run all over the place).
I have used silicone before. It dries quick, doesn't shrink and goes where you put it. Skins in about 15 minutes.
Oh, it has damping properties also.

Castlesteve, end up making the poor man's strad? Just curious, I just finished up the 2.5 clones and am thinking about doing the PMS.
