Need 10" drivers and advise
I want to build a flyable PA 2-way box that handles 100 Hz and up. There will always be a sub. I'm going to integrate with a ribbon tweeter. I'd like to use 2 10" mid-bass drivers along with a double ribbon tweeter. Do continuous 124 db with peaks higher. Each 10" would sit side by side with the ribbon between them in a trapezoidal box of about 40-50 liters. I'd prefer to make it a sealed box. The 10" drivers would be responsible for 100-3.5 KHz. Light weight is good so I'm looking at neo drivers.
1. I can see how to use dual DeltaLite-II 2510 driver to get to down to 100 Hz. This is the only driver that seems to work in my models. I don't understand this. What other 10" drivers would be good? It seems to work because the Qes is .43.
2. I don't understand if high Qes is good or bad for such an application. All the better drivers have lower Qes and higher BL. For such a box, should I look for high or low Qes?
3. I designing a box, I was told to shoot for .8 Qtc. I don't understand what Qtc to optimize for? What about .707? What do you suggest?
4. I'm looking for low cost speaker design software. I just begun to explore but I'm looking for your best ideas on software to design a dual driver trapezoidal box. Ideas?

With a crossover, I don't think I would worry about Q too much.... anything near 0.7 or higher should be fine. Hard part would be getting down to 100 Hz with some of the low-Q PA drivers. Unless it has a very low Fs to start with, the low Q is going to mean smaller box and higher resonance in the box. You may have to consider allowing a little lower Q and tolerating a little extra roll-off at 100 Hz.
