Default I Need An Amp...Or Something

I'm building this:

http://www.zaphaudio.com/BAMTM.html

And I need something to power them. I'm looking to keep this as cheap as possible so I guess under $300. It's going in a college dorm room.

I don't know what the next step after that is but I do a lot with car audio so I think I need a receiver (or can you get a receiver with an amp?) All I know is that I want to play CDs, hook up an iPod, and hook up a laptop (if possible). Although I think I need an external sound card for the laptop.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

You should have a line out or at least a headphone jack on the laptop. For a 2 channel amp I suggest ebay or a pawnshop if you can find a reasonable one there.

I am thinking about getting a Denon DRA-297. I just have two quick questions:

1. I heard that these types of receivers cannot truly handle 4ohm loads. They can power speakers with an impedance of 4ohms but will overheat if driven too loud. I believe the Zaph Audio project I'm working on will have an overall impedance of 4ohms, so this situation would be bad for me. I was originally looking into used integrated amps but they tend to get pretty expensive. On the Denon website (as well as a few other manufacturers), it states that the receivers are 4ohm stable, which makes me second guess this advise.

2. How much power can I put into the speakers? The woofer is rated up to 70W and the tweeter is rated up to 80W, but on Zaph's website it talks about using nothing over 20W. Can someone clarify this for me? If I go with the Denon, it puts out 2x50W...

I'm building the vented enclosure without a sub.

Thanks
