Has anyone tried to use SubD's as a speaker-connection?
A good subD-pin will carry 5A and with a 29-pin (aka printer-port) you'll have more current-capacity than you'll ever need. SubD's has proved to be solid and are used in aero-space for years. I'm not sure that I'll ever be able to hear difference between two different connectors, but for anyone with "golden ears" the subD should be a good plug as there's very little material in the signal-chain and multiple contact-points (that's good eh?) It should be possible to run bass-midd-high in the same subD(29 pin) in an active setup. With high-power-amps/speakers there might be a problem with the voltage-rating, but with "normal" use i guess it won't be a real problem. A subD won't be as solid as an XLR/Speakon-connector but for domestic use I guess that not a big problem? Thoughts on this? Regards TroelsM
