16-18cm woofer for sealed enclosure

Can anybody recommend me a god driver for sealed enclosure? 16-18cm / ~50Hz F3 in max 25l / <100Euro

This one will get you pretty close to what you have requested .... low Fs and high Qts .... not many 6" will do that

The only other I know of is ScSp Revelator in 16ohm version .... Fs=27hz, Qts=0.39 .... but very expencive driver and very low SPL .... and probably no better than the above

Anyhow, you wont get much bass from any single 6" in closed box

But you havent mentioned anything about where, why and how

I want to use it to complement a 13cm fullrange in a small room (3.5x4.5m);
I want to let fullrange without filter, and cross the woofer at about 100 - 150Hz. So, I'm interested only in low frequency response.

Hi,

~ 4dB more efficient than the 13cm and assuming they are on the same
baffle, a series 1st order c/o at the baffle step frequency is your best bet IMO.

I am also thinking of 1st order, but why do you recommend 4db more than 13cm?

The Monacor SPH176 sure does seem interesting. I've been looking for a 6,5" driver with a light (~13-15 grams) paper cone and a BL of around 8, with sensitivity of around 90dB.

Pretty much the only driver that has interested me is the SS 18w8542. But the SPH176 seems nice and is sure cheap enough to just buy and see for yourself.

Does anyone know of distorsion measurements for Monacors?

Tpsorin, ..... different mattter then ... it might help further if we knew which 5" fullrange you will use
And why do you ask fore a 6" ... it would be better with an 8 - 10", personally I plan to use a 12" fore the same setup

Actually, there's no rule saying that sealed boxes should use drivers with a relatively high Qts around 0.4 anyway.

My personal preference is use low Qts drivers, augment the bass electronically if necessary, and enjoy the benefits of reduced boominess and box noise.

Thanks for replies. I have ordered Beyma 8BR40. This one shall work fine in sealed enclosure.
I'd liked ~17cm driver because I wanted to reuse a pair of existing boxes.
