loudspeakers and room interaction
hi all,

my first post here, just to tell you about a new and free software :
it is a real time simulation (auralization) of a pair of loudspeakers in a room and includes :
- signal generator and wav player
- simulation of first reflections from walls
- simulation of modal response of the room
- correction with parametric or DRC (FIR digital room correction)
The soft is to be used with headphones to avoid listening two times through your room !
Playing with parameters, you can understand how a room changes the sound and what parameters are important. So you'll better know what is to be corrected or not. Or where to place your speakers. Or what kind of speaker may give best results.

It is still in a beta version, try it and let me know if you find it usefull or if it misses vital features. It is here

The Final Cut has got some new features :
- diffraction of rectangular front panel
- choice of one to three ways loudspeakers with setup of speakers diameter/position and various filters types

Contrary to most audio simulation softwares, this tool is an auralization tool : you can directly listen to the effect of varying a parameter or moving in your room.
Try it, it's not very complicated to use, you just need quite a powerfull computer (2GHz or more).

So before cutting wood or soldering your new filter, listen to your new speaker in your room, it is much easier to do your mods virtually ;)

It is still in beta version, so any comment will be appreciated.
