Default Volume for Scan Speak 21W85550-01

I have been playing around with some project based on Eve II for a last year or two :-(.

http://www.edgaraudio.com/ under loudspeakers - eVe II F

Basic idea was to make some active loudspeaker based on Edgar’s EVE II final, but with some small ( or big ) modification.
My plan was to go active all the way, plus replace tweater with 2904/7000.
Amplifiers would be AlephX,Aleph30 and AlephMini

Now, I still have one big doubt about volume for bass cabinet.

First I have to mention that I have little or no knowledge about loudspeaker design, but I have time ( not so much,nut... ) and will to finish this project and to learn on the way :-)

I have read on Edgar’s web page that Eve II final is closed design..basicly he closed the bass reflex port to get closed box and as I understand the volume of cabinet remains the sime.

I have advice from other sides that this 46L (original bass cabinet volume) is too much for closed design and that it should be at around 25L.
Driver is Scan Speak 21W8555-01.
Plus, I have report from one fellow diyer, that build original EveII final, that it leaks in bass. The situation get better once he reduce volume for couple liters and went from closed to bass reflex.

The problem is/or not/ that I already have cut bass cabinet for 46L...so I will have to figure out some painless way to reduce it...the problem is that I have to ( if need it ) reduce it before I glue everything, because once glued I will not have ability to change it.

So does any one have some experience with Scan Speak 21W8555-01 and if do, what volume would you suggest for closed design.
I would appreciate any advice about whot volumen to use for ScanSpeak 21W8555-01

Thanks

here are some pictures ( taken couple monts ago if not a year :-( )

the easiest way to reduce the volume inside the box is to put more things inside (wood or brick)

yap..but as you can see from the pictures, it would be difecult to place brick at one spot and keap it there...I think...

Would like to figure right volume before I glue it...

as thing now stand, it looks like I have 20L more then neaded :-(

Hi,

I suggest for a closed box that you to pick a volume between 18.5 to 30 L based on a fully stuffed enclosure, volume reduction factor of 1.15 due to the stuffing.

yoke,

This comes a little late, but...
Tried different volumes for SS 21/W8555-01. The best is 1cft. (28l) in a vented enclosure tuned at about 30Hz with a +6dB boost at 25Hz. I am using a separate amp with a xover at about 440Hz.
